Job Title: District Sales Representative

Work Days: Mon. - Fri.& Weekends as needed

Work Hours: As directed and based on customer demand.

Reports to: General Sales Manager with minimal personal supervision.

Wage Range: Salary

Job Summary: Primary responsibility is the selling of Peterson Pacific Corp. products including, but not limited to portable delimber/debarkers, combination delimber/debarker/chippers with loaders, recyclers (hogs), blow trucks, etc. for a heavy equipment manufacturing company. Develops rapport with customers and provides liaison between customers and manufacturer.

A. REQUIREMENTS:

2. Experience/knowledge

  • Knowledge of pulp, paper and wood recycling market conditions.
  • Knowledge of pulp, paper and wood recycling equipment users.
  • Considerable knowledge of heavy timber industry equipment.
  • Minimum of three years experience in outside sales (preferably).
  • Heavy equipment mechanical knowledge.

3. Education

  • A bachelors degree preferred in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field or equivalent experience or combination of training and experience.

B. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties are performed according to established Peterson Pacific policy under the general guidance and supervision of the general sales manager.

  • Secures orders from existing and potential customers in non-dealer areas by means of equipment shows, equipment demonstrations, telephone contact, visiting the customers work site, etc.
  • Assists dealers in securing orders from existing and potential customers by means of equipment shows, equipment demonstrations, telephone contact, visiting the customers work site, etc.
  • Provides demonstrations of Peterson Pacific equipment for existing and potential customers, and provides written demo reports to general sales manager.
  • Assists with dealer demonstrations of Peterson Pacific equipment for existing and potential customers.
  • Establishes and maintains good dealer relationships.
  • Obtains accurate and detailed purchase orders from customers/dealers.
  • Faxes purchase orders to manufacturer.
  • Submits requests for quotes (for other than published options/design modifications) to the general sales manager. In his absence they must be submitted to the general manager.
  • Provides a territory sales forecast on a monthly basis.
  • Communicates to the customer and appropriate personnel variations from the scheduled delivery date.
  • Maintains accurate and up to date system on pricing of equipment.
  • Prepares monthly/quarterly Purchase Order Volume, Lost Sales Report and other misc. reports as required.
  • Schedules and coordinates equipment deliveries with general sales manager.
  • Supports marketing in assigned territory.
  • Keeps manufacturing plant informed of competitive changes in the market.
  • Confers with the accounting department in solving complex problems pertaining to collections.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication with direct customers, dealers, general sales manager, other sales representatives, parts department, service department, accounting department, and engineering department.
  • Submits accurate and timely expense reports to the accounting department.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the sales manager or as may be necessary.
